The particular standard for electrocardiographic monitoring (bedside and central monitors). It covers heart-rate accuracy and response, the response to tall T waves and pacemaker pulses (so pacing spikes are not counted as beats), alarm behaviour, defibrillation protection and recovery after a shock, and the electrosurgery interference test. The diagnostic 12-lead electrocardiograph has its own particular standard (IEC 60601-2-25); ambulatory recorders are IEC 60601-2-47.
