Community Guidelines
How we treat each other in the BMEssentia community.
BMEssentia LLC-FZ, Dubai, United Arab Emirates · Version 2.0 · Last updated October 9, 2026 · Effective date: October 9, 2026
Welcome to the Community
The Private Global BME Community is a professional network built exclusively for biomedical engineers, students, innovators, and MedTech leaders. It exists inside the BMEssentia Platform and App, not on a public social network, not on a general forum, and not accessible to anyone outside the platform.
That exclusivity is deliberate. The people inside this community chose biomedical engineering. They are building careers in a field that sits at the intersection of engineering, medicine, and human life. The standard of conversation in this community should reflect that.
These guidelines exist to protect the quality of the community for everyone in it. They are not bureaucratic rules. They are the baseline of what it means to be a professional in this field and to engage with other professionals who deserve your respect.
By joining and participating in the community, you agree to these guidelines. Violation may result in your removal from the community and from the BMEssentia platform.
The Private Global BME Community is for:
- BME students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level who are serious about the field
- Biomedical engineering professionals working in clinical engineering, device design, research, or industry
- Healthcare professionals who work with medical technology and want to understand it at a deeper level
- MedTech professionals working in sales, product management, regulatory affairs, or business development
- BMEssentia tutors who are verified specialists in their domain
- Institutional users accessing BMEssentia through a licensed organizational account
The community is not a general-purpose social network. Discussions should be relevant to biomedical engineering, medical devices, healthcare technology, clinical engineering, career development in BME, or MedTech industry topics. Unrelated content will be removed.
The standard expected in this community is the same standard expected of professionals in the field. Biomedical engineering is a discipline where the gap between what a professional knows and what a situation demands can have real consequences. The people in this community understand that. Engage accordingly.
- Be respectful and professional in every interaction: with students, with professors, with industry veterans, with everyone
- Contribute value: share knowledge, ask real questions, offer genuine perspectives
- Be honest about what you know and what you do not know: intellectual honesty is the foundation of good engineering
- Acknowledge uncertainty when you are not sure about something rather than presenting speculation as fact
- Support and encourage members who are earlier in their journey than you
- Give credit when you reference the work, ideas, or insights of others
- Keep your identity and credentials accurate: the community trusts you to represent yourself honestly
The following are prohibited in the community. Violations will be acted upon promptly.
Conduct violations:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any community member in any form
- Discriminatory language or content based on race, gender, nationality, religion, disability, age, or any other characteristic
- Personal attacks on other members: disagree with ideas, not with people
- Deliberately spreading misinformation or presenting false technical information as fact
- Impersonating any person, institution, or professional credential
- Sharing personal information about other members without their consent
Content violations:
- Spam: repetitive, irrelevant, or unsolicited posts of any kind
- Advertising, self-promotion, or promotional content not approved by BMEssentia
- Links to external competing platforms, courses, or services
- Copyrighted material shared without authorization from the rights holder
- Confidential or proprietary information from your employer, institution, or any third party
- Clinical patient data, personally identifiable health information, or any data that should not be publicly shared
- Sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or otherwise harmful content of any kind
- Content promoting illegal activity
- Licence keys, cracked or modified versions of Medical City, cheats, or anything that helps others get around BMEssentia's licensing
Commercial violations:
- Soliciting money, personal information, or business from other community members without BMEssentia's permission
- Recruiting or directing community members to competing platforms or services
- Using the community to conduct business or commercial activity outside the platform
- Approaching BMEssentia tutors for private paid sessions outside the platform
BMEssentia moderates the community actively. Here is how it works:
| Situation | What BMEssentia Does |
|---|---|
| Minor first violation: unintentional or low severity | Private message to the member explaining the issue. Post may be removed or edited. |
| Repeated minor violations or single moderate violation | Formal warning issued. Post removed. Continued violations lead to temporary suspension. |
| Serious violation: harassment, misinformation, competitor promotion | Immediate post removal. Temporary or permanent removal from community depending on severity. |
| Zero-tolerance violation | Immediate permanent removal from community and platform. No appeal. |
BMEssentia does not preview content before it is posted. Moderation happens after posting. If you see a violation, report it immediately using the reporting process in Section 6. Do not engage with or respond to violating content, report it and let BMEssentia handle it.
When you post in the community, you remain the owner of what you write. By posting, you grant BMEssentia a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, moderate, and remove your content as necessary to operate and maintain the community. You do not grant BMEssentia the right to use your community posts for commercial marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
You are responsible for everything you post. If your post contains inaccurate technical information that could cause harm, if it includes confidential information you should not have shared, or if it violates any of the rules in Section 3, you are accountable. BMEssentia may remove your content at any time without prior notice.
Community posts are visible to all BMEssentia subscribers who have community access. Do not post anything you would not be comfortable with any BMEssentia user seeing. Do not post anything that would embarrass you professionally or that you would not stand behind publicly in your field.
If you witness a violation of these guidelines, report it immediately. Do not wait. Do not respond to or engage with the violating content.
To report a violation:
- Use the report function within the community platform if available
- Or email team@bmessentia.net with the subject line "Community Violation Report"
Include in your report: a description of what you observed, the username or account involved where known, a screenshot or evidence where possible, and the date and time of the incident. All reports are confidential. BMEssentia will not disclose your identity to the person you reported without your consent except where required by law.
BMEssentia will acknowledge all community violation reports within 48 business hours and will act on confirmed violations promptly. BMEssentia will not share the outcome of all investigations but will act on every valid report.
If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe this was in error, you may appeal by contacting team@bmessentia.net with the subject line "Community Moderation Appeal" within 7 days of the action. Include your username, a description of the content that was removed or the action taken, and your explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect.
BMEssentia will review all appeals within 5 business days and communicate the outcome. For zero-tolerance violations, no appeal is available and the decision is final.
BMEssentia may update these Community Guidelines at any time. Material changes will be communicated by notice within the community and by email to registered users. Your continued participation in the community after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
