What you'll be able to do

The job, done properly.

  • Hand over CT and DR rooms on physics tests and dose
  • Hand over an MRI suite as a safety system
  • Commission an ultrasound fleet probe by probe
  • Troubleshoot image faults by geometry, frequency and swaps
  • Explain DWI, LGE and dose settings to a radiology department

The story

Crescent Medical Distribution moves you to its imaging division. Your territory's customers are the same Medical City hospitals, now for CT, MRI, digital radiography and ultrasound.

Rania MansourField Service and Clinical Applications Manager · your mentor (a character in the track)
“A CT image that looks fine can still be wrong in number or dose. Hand over with the water phantom's CT number, the noise, the CTDIvol against the display and the survey, and know every artefact's family by its shape.”

Proof

Only evidence counts.

A step is done when there is evidence: a simulation score, a saved work document, a passed check or a signed observation. Opening a page never ticks anything.

  • Before and afterThe same baseline check on day one and in the final week, scored per competency.
  • Mastery, not attendanceEach competency has a mastery threshold. Below it, the track routes you to the named remediation items and a re-check; a week cannot be ticked complete by opening items alone.
  • The audit packYour weekly work documents and capstones, ready for a supervisor, an employer or an inspector.

The certificate

BMEssentia Certificate of Completion: Field Service & Clinical Specialist, Imaging branch

It names the track and the level you completed. Your portfolio holds the work behind it.

  • All 6 weeks' required items done at the learner's level
  • At least 7 of 8 competencies mastered
  • Final check at or above the level's pass mark
  • Capstone at 3 or above on every criterion, signed off by the manager or professor (institutions) or AI-assisted rubric review (individuals)

Imaging installation and handover pack

For one modality (CT, MRI, DR or ultrasound), the complete handover pack the hospital's physicist and engineer accept: siting, tests with values and instruments, dose, safety conditions, training.

Evidence it gives: Imaging acceptance evidence; supports installation-time metrics.

A recorded specialist session for a radiology department

Deliver and record a 20-minute session on what the customer's scanners measure and how settings change dose and images, using the Device Lab and image cases.

Evidence it gives: Training evidence for the customer.

Imaging troubleshooting case file

Document one imaging fault end to end (real or simulation): the complaint, what travels with what, the frequency or geometry clue, the cause, the fix, the verification images and the customer communication.

Evidence it gives: First-time-fix evidence.

Three levels

Easy, Medium or Hard.

A baseline check on day one places you, or you choose. The competencies are the same at every level; the support and the pressure change.

Easy

Baseline under 50%, or chosen · simulations at Foundation

Worked examples first; Foundation simulations with the coach; hard-only cases hidden.

Medium

Baseline 50% to 74%, or chosen · simulations at Practitioner

Practitioner difficulty; rings and the MRI suite plan shown.

Hard

Baseline 75% and above, or chosen · simulations at Expert

Expert difficulty, every case, timed boss week.
