Philips DigiTrak XT Holter Recorder

The DigiTrak XT is a solid state, single AAA cell Holter recorder that stores up to 168 hours (7 days) of 3 channel ambulatory ECG on an internal MMC memory card for analysis in Philips Holter software. Unlike displayless recorders it has a small LCD with lead status and live trace screens for checking hookup, plus optional pacemaker pulse detection. After the study it is docked to a USB dual dock on the Holter PC for download. FDA cleared the hardware as the Braemar DL900 Series (K071733), and Philips sells it as model 860322.

Safety

Safety warnings from the record.

  • Remove the patient leads from the electrodes before defibrillation. Source
  • Pacer detection can give false positives from poor hookup or noise and false negatives with bipolar pacemakers, and displayed spikes do not reflect true pacing amplitude. Source
  • Do not immerse the recorder; patients should not wear it in the shower or bath. Source
  • Do not unplug the recorder while Preloading is flashing; an early disconnect corrupts the ECG. Source
  • Stopping a study early without the Early Out procedure can lose all recorded data. Source

Not covered: The public instructions for use are the January 2008 edition 1; later editions and a 2025 addendum exist and may change details. The specification table in the PDF extracts with labels and values out of order, so values were matched to labels by sequence and cross checked with the settings table (175 s/s, 10 bit); confirm before publishing. The K071733 file holds only the decision letter and indications, with no technical summary. The steps for clearing Error 602 sit in Philips' correction letter, which was not opened, so they are not described. No service manual is public, so there are no board level or calibration details. MAUDE lists only a few dozen problem terms for this brand, including single figure counts for smoking, melted and fire; that is too few to show a trend and was not used as a failing part.
