Mindray A-Series A7 Anesthesia System

The Mindray A7 is a continuous flow anaesthesia workstation with an automatic bellows ventilator and built in monitoring of O2, CO2, N2O and five anaesthetic agents. It is cleared for adults and all paediatric groups, neonates included. It belongs to Mindray's A-Series alongside the A3 and A5. FDA records show few recalls, mostly gas leaks at cylinder yokes and absorber seals across the A-Series.

Safety

Safety warnings from the record.

  • A leak at a backup cylinder yoke can deplete the reserve gas that is needed if pipeline supply fails. Source
  • On the related A3 and A5, a software fault could apply previous settings instead of defaults or skip the start up leak test, so check settings at each start. Source

Not covered: No Mindray product page or manual was opened, so manufacturerUrl points to the FDA summary and errorCodes is empty. The 510(k) comparison table extracted out of order; values were matched to rows by position and should be checked against the PDF. Battery, gas supply pressure, weight and electrical data were not found. The A3/A5 recalls are a related product line and are used only as guidance, not as A7 recalls. Recall text was read through openFDA because FDA recall pages returned errors at drafting time.
