B. Braun Dialog+ and Dialog+ Evolution Hemodialysis System

Dialog+ is B. Braun's haemodialysis machine for hospital and outpatient units, sold in several configurations with options such as the Adimea dose monitor, a dialysis fluid filter and bicarbonate cartridge support. It offers per patient profiling of UF, sodium, bicarbonate, temperature, dialysate flow and heparin, and a Technical Service Mode with online trend graphs. Its main documented weak point is cracking of the bicarbonate and end conductivity cells.

Safety

Safety warnings from the record.

  • A cracked conductivity sensor can lead to excessive ultrafiltration or too little, depending on whether a dialysis fluid filter is fitted. Source
  • Repeated alarm 1026 means stopping therapy on that machine until it has been inspected. Source

Not covered: No public B. Braun document with flow, temperature, conductivity or power specifications was reachable; the 510(k) PDF is an image scan with no extractable text, so the clearance spec cites only the FDA record. The operator and service manuals were not found, so only the one alarm code quoted in a recall is listed. Recalls for Streamline bloodlines made for the Dialog were left out as separate products. MAUDE counts are not failure rates.
