Welch Allyn Connex Spot Monitor
The Connex Spot Monitor is a compact spot check vital signs monitor that takes noninvasive blood pressure, pulse rate, SpO2 and temperature for adult, paediatric and neonatal patients. It is used mainly on general wards, clinics and outpatient areas, often on a mobile stand or wall mount. Its distinguishing features are SureBP inflation step measurement, a choice of Nonin, Nellcor or Masimo SpO2, and direct sending of vitals to the electronic record over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Bluetooth.

Safety
Safety warnings from the record.
- Mishandled batteries can heat, smoke, explode or catch fire; do not short, crush, burn or open them. Source
- Not for use near flammable anaesthetics, near MRI, in hyperbaric chambers, during transport outside the facility or on patients on heart lung machines. Source
- With repeated Stat mode readings, check the limb regularly, as prolonged impaired circulation or a misplaced cuff can cause bruising. Source
- Do not put the cuff on a limb with an IV infusion, compromised circulation, or the same side as a mastectomy, and avoid an SpO2 clip on the same limb. Source
- Some reusable BP cuff packs shipped with the monitor contained an undeclared natural rubber band (recall Z-1563-2025), a risk for latex allergic patients. Source

Not covered: The Connex Spot service manual is only mirrored on a site behind a bot check, so service level calibration steps, part numbers and the full disassembly procedure were not reviewed; error codes come from the 2017 user DFU only and the DFU revision should be matched to the unit's software. The 2017 DFU predates the Masimo RRp option.
