EVIS EXERA III CF-HQ190L colonovideoscope

The CF-HQ190L is a reusable flexible video colonoscope from the Olympus EVIS EXERA III 190 series, used in endoscopy units for examination and treatment of the lower digestive tract from the anus to the ileocaecal valve. It is distinctive for its Dual Focus optics, which switch between a normal and a near focus range at the press of a button, and for built in ScopeGuide coils that show the scope's shape in 3D so loops can be spotted during insertion.

Safety

Safety warnings from the record.

  • Routine reprocessing of a scope that has failed the leak test can drive fluid inside and cause further damage. Use the Olympus leaking scope procedure instead. Source
  • Switching off the maintenance unit or light source while a leaking scope is still under water can let water into internal spaces. Source
  • Water left in channels after repair can support contamination and lead to patient infection. Source
  • The scope is supplied non-sterile and must be high-level disinfected or sterilised before use. Source
