Abbott Precision Xceed Pro Blood Glucose and B-Ketone Monitoring System
The Precision Xceed Pro is a hospital point of care meter that measures blood glucose and beta hydroxybutyrate (ketone) on individually foil wrapped, bar coded strips. A built in bar code scanner reads operator, patient and strip lot IDs, and results go through a dock to Abbott's PrecisionWeb data management system and on to the LIS. QC lockouts help enforce testing policy.

Recalls
Known FDA recalls.
- Z-0994-20112010-12-22
Certain Precision Xceed Pro (and related Abbott) glucose strip lots could give erroneously low results.

Safety
Safety warnings from the record.
- Not for patients who are dehydrated, in shock, critically ill or hyperosmolar, and not for screening or diagnosing diabetes. Source
- Falsely low results from affected strip lots could lead to wrong treatment decisions. Source
- Neonatal samples are allowed, so confirm haematocrit sits within the 20 to 70% glucose limit before relying on a result. Source

Not covered: No public copy of the operator's manual could be opened (a training site link returned 404), so error codes, QC rules, cleaning agents and environmental limits are missing. Many specs come from a 2013 CAP Today guide filled in by Abbott, not an Abbott document. Current market status was not confirmed.
